Growing up in Asheville, North Carolina meant exploring the outdoors my whole life. I lived near the Blue Ridge Parkway and spent most days mountain biking on trails and soaking in nature scenes. My painting style layers watercolor, acrylic, and oil on wood and canvas to imitate texture in nature.
Linville Gorge Series
This series launched in 2019, after I was awarded the Regional Artist Project Grant*. The group of paintings were framed in wormy maple by local woodworker, Benita Soper.
*RAP-G, a program funded by the North Carolina Arts Council, the United Arts Council of Catawba County, the Caldwell Arts Council, the Hiddenite Center of Alexander County, the Rock School Art Foundation, the Burke Arts Council, and the McDowell Arts Council Association.
